English 101

This class has been a wonderful experience. When I realized that the class would focus on the paranormal I was not interested. I did not believe in such a thing but throughout the semester and my research I have learned so much about the paranormal. While doing my research on various topics, I learned about all the methods of telekinesis, psychic ability, communicating with the dead, UFO'S and much more. I can honesty say that I do believe in what I thought did not exist or can happen.

I strongly feel my writing skills has improved throughout this semester. Our professor gave me wonderful feedback on all my written work. I struggled throughout the semester with setting up reference pages and in text citations, I believe my work citations has improves also. Researching was one of the easiest tasks for me. I enjoyed searching the Internet and visiting the library for information that I needed. Communicating with students through blackboard and maintaining a blog was easy also.

If I could do it all over again, I would proof read more and be more informative with my essays. I will also communicate with my professor more on what I could do to improve and avoid minor mistakes.

I enjoyed the topic of the class. The topic paranormal phenomenon challenge me in many ways. I did not believe because I was not knowledgeable about the paranormal. Through all the books and websites I have read, I have obtained valuable information that have me change my views.

I have no complaints about the class. Again I enjoyed every week, day in and day out.

Having the ability to read classmates essay and commenting was very fun for me. Many of my fellow classmates gave me great comments and assisted me a great deal all semester.

Essay two resources

I had reviewed more than five sources about communicating with the dead.
Two of my sources were a book written by the same author. The books are Reaching to Heaven and Talking to Heaven. The author James Van Praagh gives insight on our ability to communicate with the dead. The book helps confirm any questions of doubt that one may have about communicating with the dead. Both books compliment one another. There were many scientific findings and proof provided. Both books were a great asset to my paper.
Another source was a book titled The Truth about Medium. This book was excellent. The author Gary Schwartz wrote his book based on a true life medium. This book offers solid evidence of psychic ability, mediumship, and communication with the dead is real.
I also found a great article from Time Magazine that was very useful to my paper. It answers the question relating to what happens when we die. The article relates to my subject by providing claims of individuals who has experience dieing and coming back to life.

Blog assignment #6

I will begin my research by searching the web, the web will assist me with places where I can find books, magazine and newspaper articles. The library is a great place to find books and old newspaper clipping. Know matter what subject an individual need, it can be found at the library. The library has current and dated information. Utilizing the library will give me knowledge so my paper can be informational and argumentative Another great source will be utilizing individuals who have experience and/or knowledge about my topic; Can one communicate with the dead?

Essay Revision

I appreciated all my classmates comment. After reading and re-reading my esssay, I felt my essay needed much work. I began revising my essay by providing a good introduction that would catch my readers attention. I changed my concluson so that my readers would want to read more. I made sure there were no grammical errors. I decided to add more information and examples. Last but not least, I re-did my work cited page. Hopefully, my work cited page is correct.

Peer evaluation essay #1

I receive very good feedback from my fellow classmates in reference to my essay. I think all the comments that were posted was very helpful. One of the most important comments I receive on my essay was that it was not catchy. I did not grab the attention of my readers. I will go through my essay and make it more interesting for my readers.
Most of my classmates said I need to work on my introduction and conclusion. I will utilized this information and try to revise both as best as possible. Someone also said that my reference page needs to be in mla format. Again I will utilize all the feedback I received, so my essay will be properly done.

http://www.skepdic.com/kinesis.html Skeptic.com is very informational. The information I obtain is very well explained. It gave me insight on defining telekinesis. This site will be very useful for my definition essay.

http://home.xtra.co.nz/hosts/Wingmakers/Telekinesis.html Home xtra did not provide enough information for a definition essay. The site did give examples on how to perform telekinesis.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychokinesis Wikipedia is very informational. This site has excellent detailed sources and information.Wikipedia.org information is very clearly stated and up to date. This website is very useful for my definition essay.

http://www.crystalinks.com/telekinesis.html Crystallinks.com has information about telekinesis, yet there was no author and the page seem to be out dated. I would not trust this websites information.

Paranormal

When I think of the word paranormal witchcraft, black magic, voodoo, psychic and EST comes to mind. I was unaware spiritual beliefs were categorized under the paranormal. After completing the paranormal belief scale I came to the conclusion that I believe in more paranormal activity than I realized.



I am a Spiritual person. I believe in God and I feel there is a devil. I do not believe in witchcraft, psychics, black magic etc.



Writing about paranormal will be interesting. Paranormal is a very broad subject, so the more knowledge I endure maybe the more belief I will have by the end of the course. I anticipate on learning more about the individuals who believe in paranormal. Also scientific facts that shows telekinesis, astrology and psychic are real.
